A meeting for the leaders of DFLP and DFPE

2019-06-27

• Hawatmeh: We call for turning the national rejection of the Trump deal and the Bahrain workshop, into practical steps by getting out of Oslo and implementing the decisions of the Central and National Councils

• Ayman Odeh: We with our partners in the Joint List work to raise the level of the Arab voting, to strengthen our position in the fight against the system of fascist laws and policies of Netanyahu government

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) and the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality (DFPE) in the 48 areas emphasized the necessity and importance of the success of the process of rebuilding and forming the Joint Arab List to run for legislative elections in Israel in next September.

This came in a meeting for the Secretary-General of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Nayef Hawatmeh, and Ayman Odeh president of the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality, and its Secretary General, Mansour Dahamsheh, and Ofer exif deputy in the Knesset on behalf of the Front.

The two sides discussed the Palestinian situation and emphasized that the policy of the right and the extreme right, by the Netanyahu government is increasingly directing towards a racist fascist policy in its implementation of the "national law", which requires the unification of Palestinian Arab efforts and forces, to confront this policy. At the forefront of this, is the re-formation of the Joint Arab List, and working to raise the level of voting of the Arab masses in the upcoming elections, to increase the weight of the Arab bloc in the Knesset, and enhance its role in exposing and resisting the right-wing fascist laws and policies.

The two sides also agreed on the importance of the unity of the Palestinian national position in the face of the Trump-Netanyahu deal and the Bahrain workshop, and turning the rejecting position into practical field policies, including the implementation of the decisions of the Central Council [27+28 sessions] and National Council [23 session], revoking the Oslo Accords and their commitments, and fortifying the national situation by correcting relations within the PLO, ending division, and restoring internal unity by resorting to the ballot box.

The two sides as well appreciated the position of the Arab peoples and their political forces in supporting the struggles of the Palestinian people in rejecting the Trump deal and Bahrain workshop and condemning Arab participation and normalization, in a clear violation of the Arab peace initiative and ignoring the appeals of the Palestinian people and its calls for boycott
